Heat Treated Pallets for Hygienic Supply Chains
Safeguard your sensitive cargo with chemical-free, mold-resistant wooden pallets kiln-dried for pharmaceutical and food-grade compliance.
The Danger of Moisture and Chemical Contamination
Using damp green wood skids invites mold growth that can cross-contaminate your entire shipment. Furthermore, relying on chemically gas-treated pallets introduces toxic residues that are increasingly banned in food and medical supply chains globally.
Product Spoilage: Moisture migrating from wet pallets can ruin packaging integrity and degrade sensitive pharmaceutical products.
Chemical Leaching: Methyl Bromide residues can transfer to your goods, leading to recall risks and consumer safety violations.
Structural Warping: Unseasoned wood twists as it dries naturally, leading to unstable stacks and potential collapse in your warehouse.

What is the difference between heat treated and kiln dried pallets?
While the terms are often used interchangeably, there is a technical distinction. Heat Treatment (HT) specifically refers to heating the wood core to 56°C for 30 minutes for pest sterilization (ISPM-15). Kiln Drying (KD) is a longer process aimed at reducing moisture content to specific levels (usually 10-12% or 15-20%) to prevent warping and mold. Our premium export pallets are both Heat Treated and Kiln Dried (HT/KD). This dual process ensures legal compliance for export while maximizing structural stability and hygiene. Using HT/KD pallets ensures you meet regulatory standards and quality performance. Upgrade to HT/KD pallets for superior supply chain security.
Why are heat treated pallets better for the environment?
Heat treated pallets are environmentally superior because they achieve pest compliance without the use of ozone-depleting chemicals like Methyl Bromide. This makes them non-toxic and safe for workers to handle, as well as safe for recycling or mulching at the end of their lifecycle. Furthermore, the process increases the wood’s longevity, allowing for more reuse cycles compared to chemically degraded or rotting pallets. By choosing heat-treated options, your company supports sustainable logistics practices and aligns with global green procurement standards. Choose an eco-friendly pallet solution that supports your corporate sustainability goals.
Do heat treated pallets weigh less than standard pallets?
Yes, heat treated pallets generally weigh less than standard “green” wood pallets because the heating and drying process removes a significant amount of water weight. Green wood can contain up to 50% moisture, making pallets heavy and costly to ship, especially via air freight. By reducing the moisture content, we produce lightweight, high-strength platforms that can significantly lower your freight bills and improve fuel efficiency during transport. For air cargo where every kilogram counts, this weight reduction provides immediate ROI. Optimize your logistics costs with our lightweight heat-treated options.
Are heat treated pallets resistant to termites?
You can verify if a pallet is heat treated by looking for the ISPM-15 stamp branded onto the wood. This stamp must include the IPPC logo, the two-letter ISO country code, the unique registration number of the treatment provider, and the code “HT” indicating Heat Treatment. If a pallet lacks this stamp or the markings are illegible, it is not considered compliant for international trade. We ensure that every pallet leaving our facility is clearly and legibly marked, providing you with visible proof of compliance for customs inspectors. specific phytosanitary certificates are also provided upon request. Inspect your stock today and replace non-compliant units.
Are heat treated pallets resistant to termites?
Heat treatment effectively kills any termites, larvae, or eggs present in the wood at the time of processing, ensuring the pallet is pest-free when it leaves our facility. However, unlike chemical pressure treatment, heat treatment does not provide permanent residual immunity against future infestation if the pallets are stored improperly in pest-ridden areas. To maintain their integrity, it is crucial to store treated pallets in clean, dry environments away from ground contact. Our pallets are delivered pest-free and ready for export, helping you bypass quarantine risks at borders. Ensure your warehouse storage supports the longevity of your export pallets.
